Weekend Dinner & Movie

We had horrible weather here in Melbourne on Monday with strong winds, heavy rain, thunder & lightning! I was having a bath last night & the bathroom light flickered whenever there was lightning, scared the hell outta me because my thoughts started to run wild! Weather here yesterday was horrid, but the weekend weather was great. This is Melbourne for you; 1 day bright sunny cheery & warm, the next day, dark gloomy & windy. So anyways after idling the entire Saturday at home watching Korean drama, Prosecutor Princess (thanks Addie for the recommendationPhotobucket) whilst lazing in bed with a cup of black coffee in hand, we decided to travel to Chadstone for window shopping and a dinner & movie date thereafter!

We dined at Wagamama & I ordered 1 of my all time favourite Japanese dishes, Chicken Katsu Curry RicePhotobucket The presentation of this dish at Wagamama differs slightly from other eateries; instead of serving the dish with the chicken katsu on top of the rice, Wagamama served the dish with the rice on top of the chicken katsu. The curry didnt taste like the usual S&B curry roux that I use whenever I cook Japanese curry at home but nevertheless still very delicious. The rice was however way too much for me; I'm a small eater! But only when it comes to rice; I'm not much of a rice lover, I'm more of a fan of fried noodles!

Honey Bear ordered stir-fried noodles. I'm not sure if it's Yaki Udon or Yaki Soba? The noodles look slightly thicker so I reckon it might be Yaki Udon. A very colourful dish, lots of vegetables, and I really love those red pickles^^ It tastes as good as it looks, yummy yummy yummy!

We also ordered Duck Gyoza served with Hoisin sauce. There was too much meat in the dumpling, so I didnt really like it much.

And of course, there was green tea. Lovely pot!

After our dinner, we bought tickets for Bridesmaids! Of course if Honey Bear had a choice, he'd prefer Pirates 4 or X-men 1st Class, but he's really accommodating when it comes to meals & movies (& my bad princessy temper & tantrums!), & often lets me make the decision. So we ended up watching Bridesmaids. It's about coming to terms with love lost, career failure, the fear of losing your best girlfriend to another female friend who is more humourous, and eventually realizing that friendship is much stronger than you imagined it to be and that life need not be so messed up if you re-open your heart to others and to overcome your fears of failure. It's a lightweight comedy suitable for times when you just dont want to get so enveloped into plots after plots but just to laugh it all off in a relaxed manner. Not too bad a movie, but not 1 which I'd watch over and over again.

Oh yum! Your food pics are making me hungry and I just ate too haha. I like nights when it's thundering and storming haha~ as long as it's not too windy and too much. It's sort of like a thrill for me since I don't have to depend on my lovely wild imagination nor do I like horror movies or scary rides.

Bridesmaids sounds so interesting! I think I must watch that online sometime hehe. What a nice s.o. to be accommodating for you. (shhh don't tell but one of the things I like about being a girl is that you can whine and whatever to have your way with you s.o. HAHA score!)
OMG I didn't even notice you beside the Bridesmaids cardboard thing- the name of what you call it escapes me. You blend right in!

o0o0o0 bridesmaids! I've heard mixed reviews on this movie! Im glad that you liked it enough to be able to enjoy it though! Im not sure about Melborne but movie tickets are quite pricey over here in Vancity so bf and I often go on Tuesdays when tickets are half off =D Our next movie is cars 2!!! I actually wanted to watch it on friday, when it first came out but decided it's silly to waste extra money when I could watch it a few days later at half the price! >< haha your bf is so cute and sweet to let you pick the movies! My bf is actually quite picky when it comes to movies!
